FSC Hub · Sim Diagnostic

A free AI health check for your flight simulator

Stutters, controller problems, settings you were never sure about. FSC Hub is a Windows app that reads your PC and sim setup, then prepares a report with possible causes and what to try next.

The FSC report

A written report with clear next steps

The diagnostic saves what it collected in an AI-ready file on your PC. Send it to FSC and our AI system prepares a private written report with possible issues and what to try next. Your first report is free. FSC Pro reports are written by a more powerful AI model.

  • A plain-English summary of your setup as it stands
  • Findings labeled by severity and grouped by topic
  • The evidence behind each one, so you can check it yourself
  • A specific next action for each finding

The published sample is a real FSC Pro report from Mike’s own simulator PC. Your report is private to your account unless you choose to share a link to it.

How it works

Four steps to your report

1

Download FSC Hub

One Windows installer, nothing to configure, and it updates itself. Download it now — or read the full FSC Hub page first if you want to know what else it does.

2

Open Sim Diagnostic and press Start

The Hub opens on its Home screen. Click Run a diagnostic (or Sim Diagnostic in the left menu), then press Start.

You can open “Customize what’s collected” first and untick anything you’d rather leave out. If you have FSC Pro and want it to capture live performance, have the sim running in a flight where the problem actually happens.

3

Sign in, or create a free account

Click Get my free report in the Hub. A sign-in window opens. New here? Choose New User and register with an email address and password. Once you’re signed in, click Send for my free report.

4

Read your report

We email you when it’s ready and it lives in your private FSC account. Start with the most relevant findings and their suggested next steps. Want a second opinion? Share a link to it on a forum or Discord.

Prefer to do it yourself? The Hub also drops an AI-ready text file on your Desktop that you can hand to ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini — no account, no sign-in, nothing uploaded to us.

Coverage

What it looks at

PC, drivers and displays

CPU, GPU and VRAM, which GPU is actually rendering, graphics driver age, monitor layout, refresh rates and HDR, Windows power plan, and pending updates.

Simulator configuration

Which simulators are installed and where, the settings that actually cost performance, scenery and cache configuration, and the sim-specific files behind them.

Controls and USB devices

Yokes, sticks, throttles, rudder pedals and panels, what Windows sees versus what the sim has bound, and bindings pointing at hardware that isn’t there any more.

Add-ons, crashes and load

The free run inventories add-ons and flags possible conflicts. FSC Pro can also include Windows crash and error logs plus an optional live snapshot of frame rate and system load while you fly.

What’s available varies by simulator, by what you have installed, and by the categories you choose to include. The Windows crash/error-log capture and live performance snapshot require FSC Pro. An analysis can identify likely causes and priorities; it can’t reproduce every intermittent fault or promise that one change fixes everything.

Your data

What it collects, and what leaves your PC

This is software that reads your computer, so here is exactly what it does with what it finds.

You pick what it looks at. Every optional category has a tick box before the run.

It removes common personal identifiers before packaging. Windows user names inside file paths, email addresses, and Wi-Fi or network names are removed. A file that cannot be scrubbed is left out; if an unsafe file cannot be removed, no bundle is created.

No diagnostic package goes to FSC until you choose to send it. Your own run finishes on your Desktop, and uploading it is a separate, deliberate click.

The output is plain text, so you can inspect it before sending. It still contains diagnostic details such as your PC name, hardware and driver versions, simulator settings, add-on names, crash records, and device connection times. If you send a bundle to FSC, FSC staff can access it for up to 90 days to check the report against its source data; it is then deleted automatically. The finished report is private to your account.

Questions

Before you download

Why does my flight simulator stutter even when the frame rate looks fine?

Because average FPS hides the thing you actually feel. A stutter is a single long frame, and the usual causes are a VRAM ceiling, a terrain or object detail setting set higher than your card can stream, a stale shader cache after a sim update, an add-on conflict, or a drive too full to cache scenery. They look identical from the pilot’s seat and need opposite fixes, which is the whole reason for reading the machine instead of guessing.

Can’t I just ask ChatGPT about my flight sim PC myself?

You can ask, but on its own ChatGPT knows nothing about your machine. Not your GPU or how much VRAM it has, not which driver you are on, not your terrain and object detail settings, and not the add-ons in your Community folder. So it answers from generic forum advice, and you can end up changing settings that were never the problem.

That is the gap the Hub fills. Every run writes an AI-ready text file to your Desktop with the information you chose to collect already gathered and scrubbed — attach it to ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and now the answers can take your setup into account. That path is free and needs no account. The FSC written report adds a summary, findings with supporting evidence, and suggested next steps. Your first one is free; after that it’s part of FSC Pro.

Which simulators does it work with?

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 (Microsoft Store or Steam) and X-Plane 11 and 12. The diagnostic reads the installation off your PC rather than talking to a running sim, so the sim doesn’t have to be open — the exception is the optional live performance capture, which needs you to be flying.

What exactly gets collected, and what leaves my PC?

Hardware and driver details, display configuration, Windows settings that affect performance, your simulator settings and add-on list, and controller bindings. FSC Pro can also collect recent crash evidence and an optional live performance snapshot. Every optional category has a tick box. Before the package is created, the collector removes Windows user names inside file paths, email addresses, and Wi-Fi or network names. A file it cannot scrub is left out; if an unsafe file cannot be removed, no package is created. The result is a plain text file on your Desktop that you can inspect. Nothing reaches FSC unless you choose to send it.

Do I need an FSC account?

Not to run the diagnostic or to use the file yourself. You need one for us to write the report, because the report has to be delivered somewhere private. Creating it takes an email address and a password: press Get my free report in the Hub, choose New User in the sign-in window that opens, and register.

Is the first report really free?

Yes — one full written report per account, no card needed. It’s written by a lighter AI model than FSC Pro uses. FSC Pro includes six reports per rolling 12 months, written by a more powerful AI model, for $5 a month. The free diagnostic file itself never runs out.

Will it fix my simulator?

An analysis can identify likely problems, show the supporting evidence, and suggest what to try next — you make the changes. It can help with things a machine can observe, such as mismatched settings, old drivers, full drives, possible add-on conflicts, and, with FSC Pro’s crash-log collection, recurring crash patterns. It can’t reproduce a fault that only happens once a week, and no report can promise that one change fixes everything. If you’d rather have a person do it with you, our sim techs work through it live in a one-to-one session.

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

Not currently — FSC Hub is Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. It installs to your own user account and doesn’t change system files.
